Job summary

Refrigeration Vessels & Systems (RVS) in Bryan, Texas is seeking an ASME Code Welder/Fabricator to perform pressure boundary welding and fabrication for ASME Section VIII, Division 1 vessels.

You will follow WPS, ASME Section IX qualifications, and RVS QC procedures, handling layout, fit-up, welding, and prep for inspection, testing, and coating.

Qualifications

  • Foundational welding skills with willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow drawings and traveler instructions.
  • Complete layout, fitup, and welding.
  • Willingness to learn ASME Code and RVS procedures.
  • Progress toward advanced ASME Section IX qualifications.
  • Typically, 1+ year related welding or fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on pressure retaining components per WPS.
  • Verify drawings, weld symbols, traveler requirements, and material identification before welding.
  • Maintain pressure boundary material traceability during fabrication.
  • Prepare joint fit up, tack welds, back gouging, and surface prep as required.
  • Produce welds meeting ASME and NDE criteria.
  • Document welding activity on travelers and quality records.
  • Participate in inspection, NDE coordination, and repair activities.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and procedural requirements.

Position Summary

Refrigeration Vessels & Systems (RVS) located in Bryan, Texas is hiring for ASME Code Welder / Fabricator. Qualified candidate performs pressure boundary welding and fabrication activities required to manufacture ASME Section VIII, Division 1 pressure vessels and pressure retaining items. This role executes welding strictly in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), ASME Section IX qualifications, and the RVS Quality Control Manual. Code Welders are responsible for layout, fit up, welding, and preparation of vessels for inspection, testing, and coating.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (all classifications)

Perform welding on pressure retaining components in accordance with approved WPS.

Verify drawings, weld symbols, traveler requirements, and material identification prior to welding.

Maintain pressure boundary material traceability throughout fabrication.

Prepare joint fit up, tack welds, back gouging, and surface preparation as required.

Produce welds capable of meeting ASME acceptance criteria and NDE requirements.

Document welding activity on travelers and quality records as required.

Participate in inspection, NDE coordination, and repair activities.

Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment.

Follow all safety, quality, and procedural requirements.
