Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a maritime training specialist to operate shipboard simulation systems and develop realistic training scenarios at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy campus.

You will work with ECDIS, radar displays, and Wärtsilä simulation solutions, coordinating with instructional staff to support cadet training and maritime readiness.

Qualifications

  • Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain.
  • Working knowledge of maritime rules of the road, including both U.S. Inland and International Rules.
  • Knowledge of and operational experience with maritime bridge console components, including Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) and radar displays.
  • Direct operational experience developing and conducting training scenarios within a higher-education or service academy institution.
  • Maritime afloat experience with operational bridge leadership.
  • USCG afloat expertise contributing to required training factors supporting merchant mariner credentialing.
  • Ability to function in a bridge-simulator training lab and general office environment on the USCGA campus.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position at a simulator console for extended periods during training evolutions.
  • Ability to move around the simulator facility and campus as needed to support training setup, exercises, and coordination with instructional staff.
  • Familiarity with Wärtsilä simulation and training solutions (preferred).

Job description

Requirements
