Job summary

Callan Marine, Ltd. is seeking a Utility Painter to apply a wide range of liquid coatings aboard marine vessels. The role primarily operates from a vessel, with responsibilities extending to assisting the crew as needed.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of painting experience, preferably in industrial or maritime settings, and be willing to travel on a 28/14 on/off hitch. A live-aboard capability is required, with strict adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of painting experience, preferably industrial or maritime.
• Willingness to travel on a 28/14 on/off hitch.
• Must be able to live aboard a dredge.
• Must pass Drug & Alcohol testing procedures.
• Commitment to working safely and to quality standards.
• 3 years maritime vessel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, paint, and varnish various surface types aboard vessels.
• Prepare surfaces for painting through power-washing and/or sanding.
• Select and mix paints suitable for marine environments.
• Apply coatings using conventional or airless spray equipment.
• Maintain paint-related equipment and manage inventory communication.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety.
