Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Vessel Operator to inspect vessels, operate the craft when safe, and direct crew while deployed. You will use navigational data, weather forecasts and tides to keep the vessel and crew safe across waters as directed by a supervisor.

You will also train crew in safety and seamanship, maintain logs and paperwork, and adapt plans as environmental conditions change. Strong attention to detail and prior maritime experience are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of maritime industry experience.
• Valid driver's license with MVR meeting business standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vessel and logs; ensure compliance with procedures.
• Direct deckhands and passengers to maintain safety during hazards.
• Provide ongoing safety, seamanship, and navigation training.
• Conduct onboard safety drills and maintain paperwork per regs.
• Operate vessel safely; adjust float/work plan with conditions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
