Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a skilled vessel operator to inspect and operate seaworthy vessels and supporting equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. You will use navigational tools, weather data, and current predictions to guide operations and supervise crew as needed.

Responsibilities include deploying containment boom, maintaining logs, conducting safety drills, and coordinating with supervisors to adjust plans amid changing conditions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year related experience in the maritime industry.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Deploys, tows, and anchors containment boom and other spill response equipment.
  • Keeps current all vessel logs and inspections.
  • Provides clear direction to deckhands and passengers to ensure safety.
  • Conducts onboard safety drills and training in seamanship and navigation techniques.
  • Complies with procedures and regulations, handling documentation such as logs and charts.
