Job summary

GAC Group is seeking a Boarding Agent for our Lake Charles Port Office. You will report to the Port Manager in Shipping Operations and manage day-to-day vessel calls, coordinating with port authorities and service providers to ensure smooth port calls.

The role requires a hands-on operator with strong communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to work in a 24/7 port environment; travel to vessels at times is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in maritime/shipping agency or port operations is preferred.
• Strong operational mindset and ability to manage multiple vessel activities.
• Detail-oriented with ability to maintain accurate records and support billing.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced 24/7 environment with changing vessel schedules.
• Confident communicator with vessel crews, owners/operators, and port authorities.
• Proactive and solutions-driven, takes ownership of vessel calls.

Responsibilities

• Attend to vessels and handle all operational matters per GAC Quality Management System.
• Respond to enquiries and handle operations relating to principals and prospective principals.
• Coordinate vessel arrivals with port personnel including pilots, tugs, line handlers, and authorities.
