Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years as an Assistant Engineer on similar sized vessel.
  • Advanced firefighting skills.
  • Appropriate licenses/permits of trade (e.g., CG license of appropriate tonnage; STCW endorsement) when required.
  • Current First Aid and CPR cards.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and oversees functionality and safety of vessel systems.
  • Leads capital projects including drydocking and installation; manages scheduling and budgets.
  • Oversees performance standards for vessel systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Directs documentation for energy management, maintenance and training programs.
  • Forecasts operating costs and prepares budget requests.
  • Advises management on new developments affecting profit, schedule or costs.
  • Develops training to ensure staff are trained and compliant.
