Job summary

Lerch Bates is seeking an Elevator Consultant in Houston, TX, to join our Vertical Transportation team. You will advise owners, developers, and project teams on elevators, escalators, and related systems across new construction and existing buildings.

This role emphasizes project management, technical guidance, and client relationship building. Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years in vertical transportation, VT design consulting, and strong knowledge of codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3–5+ years in elevator/vertical transportation or related industry.
• Experience with VT design consulting, modernization, maintenance audits, inspections, or construction administration.
• Knowledge of VT systems, ASME codes, and safety requirements.
• Strong project management, coordination with clients and teams, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage vertical transportation projects from planning through completion, including design, modernization, and inspections.
• Coordinate scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications.
• Provide technical recommendations on elevators, escalators, and related systems.
• Support owners and project teams with modernization planning and lifecycle analysis.
• Prepare updates, reports, and recommendations for clients and internal teams.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, codes, and best practices.
