Job summary

Talented-Medical-Solutions in Orono, Maine, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to support residents across skilled nursing, memory care, and assisted living communities. The role offers a diverse clinical environment with opportunities to impact care at multiple levels.

You'll evaluate and treat speech, language, cognition, communication, and swallowing needs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote dignity and quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible Maine SLP licensure.
• ASHA certification or eligibility preferred.
• Strong interest in working with older adults and diverse clinical populations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents across skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory support, and assisted living populations.
• Assess speech, language, cognition, communication, and swallowing needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on resident goals and clinical presentation.
• Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy interventions.
• Support residents with cognitive-communication needs, including dementia.
• Evaluate and treat swallowing and feeding disorders when indicated.
• Collaborate with nursing, dietary, therapy, and care teams to promote safe and effective care.
• Provide education to residents, families, caregivers, and staff.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
• Support functional communication and independence in daily activities.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Complete required clinical documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to a positive environment focused on resident dignity, engagement, and quality of life.
