Job summary

Prospera Housing Community Services in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to independently perform a broad range of maintenance tasks across our properties. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining units, caulking, painting, basic electrical and plumbing work, HVAC maintenance, and more, with safety and compliance emphasized.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in property maintenance or a related field.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification required within 90 days.
EPA certification (and CPO if required by property) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Perform intermediate maintenance tasks, including basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems with limited supervision.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
Assist in training and mentoring Maintenance Technician I staff.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Complete unit make-readies, including initial move-out inspections and repairs.
Assist in managing inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
