Job summary

Ohio County Healthcare is seeking a Certified Phlebotomist Float to perform phlebotomy across departments and travel to offsite sites as needed. The role requires adherence to hospital policies and professional presentation.

The position involves collecting urine and blood specimens, maintaining quality control, and ensuring accurate data entry in the hospital system, with a focus on patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED accepted within 6 months)
• BLS certification or acquire within six months of hire recommended
• Education: Preferred certification in phlebotomy
• Experience: Preferred phlebotomy experience 1–2 years in all areas (geriatric, pediatric, neonate, routine heel sticks, finger sticks) and urine/blood drug screens; DOT collections preferred. Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily routine laboratory duties in accordance with Lab Director policies and procedures.
• Collect urine and blood specimens; offsite travel for specimen collection on occasion.
• Enter data into hospital computer system; maintain accurate records of test results.
• Follow quality control policies; identify and report problems affecting test results.
