Job summary

Akkermans Leisure & Golf is seeking a Maintenance/Housekeeping position to perform routine upkeep of community grounds, buildings and resident housing. The role supports a safe, clean environment for residents, guests and staff, and assists with vehicle operations as needed.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, basic HVAC/plumbing/electrical knowledge, and experience with senior transportation. Technical skills and OSHA awareness are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Technical school education preferred.
• 1 year maintenance or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems.
• General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience with seniors and non-emergency vehicle transportation.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance to complete service requests for repair and maintenance of grounds, buildings, apartments, equipment and vehicles.
• Repairs wall/floor coverings, furniture, fixtures; basic plumbing; minor electrical work; appliance repairs; painting and refurbishing.
• Assist in executing the preventative maintenance program.
• Work on HVAC, domestic water systems, pumps, refrigeration, motors, fans, electrical systems and generators.
• Communicate with Manager for technical advice, product information and QA guidance.
• Advise Manager on equipment and furnishings condition.
• Assist with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures.
• Maintain tools and repair parts; drive community vehicle as needed.
• Assist passengers into/out of vehicle and secure wheelchairs during trips.
• Operate radio/cell/pager to report service disruptions; keep vehicles in good condition.
• Perform vehicle registration and license renewals; inspect vehicles monthly and per trip.
