Job summary

Haltom City Public Works Department seeks an Equipment Operator to handle heavy machinery and support municipal maintenance programs. You will operate backhoes, loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators, rollers, and forklifts, performing routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.

Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a valid Class A Texas Driver's License. The role includes installing sod, mowing rights-of-way, and assisting in demolition and repair tasks, all

At least one year of equipment operation experience preferred.
Valid Class A Texas Driver's License or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Operates heavy equipment including backhoes, bobcats, front end loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators, rollers, and forklifts.
Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and maintains safe operating condition.
Excavates, grades, and backfills ditches; prepares soil for projects.
Inspects storm drains using televising equipment and cleans as needed.
Mows and maintains City lots and right-of-ways, installs sod.
Cuts, trims, and removes trees and debris; assists in site cleanup.
Supports demolition of City properties and disposes of demo materials.
Welds and fabricates devices; repairs damaged equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
