Candidates must be licensed in Louisiana and have acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current and unrestricted Louisiana Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience; critical care preferred.
• Current BLS, CPR, ACLS and PALS.
• Ability to read, write, and speak intelligible English.
• Ability to learn quickly, analyze problems, and communicate effectively.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience.
• Adaptable to change, decisive, and able to anticipate.
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and communication across environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, treatments, and monitoring per hospital policies.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
• Participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Follows evidence-based policies and procedures in nursing practice.
• Documents patient conditions accurately in the EMR.
• Responds to changes in patient status and emergencies per policy.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans and discharge planning.
• Educates patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and self-care.
• Acts as a flexible clinical resource supporting staff and unit operations.
