Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System in Lake Charles, LA, is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care across multiple units 7a-7p. You will adapt quickly to Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Care, Emergency, maternity, pediatric, or infusion settings, collaborating with the care team to meet patient needs.

The Float RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, administer medications, and document in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing and licensed RN in Louisiana.
• At least 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications and ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across multiple units with adaptive skills.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using nursing processes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and self-care.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and follow unit policies.
