Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking a Float Registered Nurse (RN) to provide flexible high-quality patient care across hospital units, adapting to diverse patient populations and clinical settings. The Float RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate direct patient care and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will hold a Louisiana RN license, have at least 5 years of acute care nursing experience, and possess current BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing
• Current and unrestricted Louisiana Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS CPR ACLS and PALS
• Ability to read write and speak intelligible English

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, treatments and monitoring in accordance with hospital policies
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans and facilitate patient discharge planning
• Educates patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and self-care instructions
• Demonstrates competency in unit-specific equipment and technology and participates in unit performance improvement activities

Graduate of School of Nursing

Louisiana Registered Nurse license

5 years acute care nursing experience

Current BLS CPR ACLS PALS
