Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant for a Day shift. You will interview patients, record vital signs, assist with treatments, and maintain clean, well-organized exam rooms while documenting encounters and coordinating with clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required].
• Customer service experience in medical office [Preferred].
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
