Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a patient care assistant to interview patients, measure vital signs and document clinical data. You will assist with treatments, prepare rooms, and handle basic clerical duties in a team-based, faith-inspired healthcare setting.

Required is a High School diploma or equivalent; medical office customer service is preferred. Certifications such as BLS, CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA are expected for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience in medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments.
• Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
• Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
