Job summary

Tyler Distribution Centers LLC seeks an experienced Building Maintenance technician in Edison, NJ. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance including painting, carpentry, and general repairs with exposure to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks.

The position requires 5+ years of related experience, valid US driver’s license, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. You will use basic software to log tasks and collaborate with the team, ensuring safety and high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician or similar related role.
• Ability to communicate using email, and some experience working with a computer
• Available to work evenings/weekends and overtime
• Knowledge of lite plumbing, electrical, carpentry, lock smith, painting, HVAC etc.
• You must have a valid US driver's License with at least 3 years of experience
• Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment, racking overhead lighting overhead door plumbing / Electrical welding ability
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Must be safety minded
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC maintenance

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders as assigned—general mechanical, structure repair, painting, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and recommend repairs or improvements
• Perform light plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry duties as assigned
• Assist co-workers with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry projects
• Assist Supervisor in maintaining equipment, tools, supplies, stock, inventories, and logs
• Track and document observations and completed assignments in project systems
• Communicate building status and changes to appropriate personnel
• Adhere to safety standards, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices
• Act professionally with clients, co-workers, vendors, etc.
• Utilize materials and tools safely and productively
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
• Learn new skills and work well independently or in a team
• Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work
• Use hand and power tools for minor repairs and grounds maintenance
• Assist in shipping/receiving of warehouse supplies and materials
• Check building at shift start/end
• Assist with vendor management
• Support warehouse cleanliness
• Occasional evening and Saturday coverage as required
