The Hotel Ithaca in Ithaca, NY is seeking a reliable Bartender/Server for a role that blends bar and dining room service. The position offers hourly pay with tips and requires work across breakfast and dinner shifts, including occasional banquet support.

Candidates should be flexible for mix of shifts, enjoy teamwork, and provide excellent guest service in a busy hotel restaurant environment. Banquet events offer additional tip opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirit service.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, positive demeanor.
• High level of manual dexterity to use knives for garnishes, scoop ice, handle glassware, and mix drinks efficiently.
• Physical ability to stand for up to 8 hours in a fast-paced environment and lift boxes/supplies up to 20 lbs.
• Flexibility to work a mix of shifts based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Bar & Service Operations: Mix classic and signature drinks using standard recipes and pouring sizes; keep the bar stocked.
• Guest Experience: Deliver friendly, attentive service to bar and dining room patrons; create a warm, professional atmosphere.
• Cash & Inventory Management: Collect payments, handle cash drawers, track inventory, assist with ordering.
• Safety & Responsible Service: Verify legal drinking age; monitor consumption; coordinate safe transportation; report hazards.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside servers and kitchen staff and assist as needed.
