Job summary

Johnson Controls in Largo, FL is seeking a Full-Time 2nd Shift production operator who can work across multiple lines and perform tasks such as welding, painting, brazing, and material handling. The role requires a strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to train new staff.

Overtime and Saturday shifts are possible. The position offers $18.28/hour with shift differential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship (or equivalent years of education and 2 years of work experience).
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Hold a forklift certification, or obtain a certification within a two time allowance of testing all within the first month of starting position.

Responsibilities

• Operate on a minimum of two production lines.
• Perform duties such as spot welding, forklift operation, painting, foam, brazing, and using hand tools.
• Assist in training and orienting new employees.
• Accept supervision and guidance as needed.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety regulations.
• Be flexible with overtime and Saturday hours as needed.
• Other duties as required.
