Job summary

Barrington James is assisting a fast-growing, multi-site compounding pharmacy in the greater Houston area by placing a Verification Pharmacist for the evening shift (3pm–midnight). This is a sole pharmacist role in a high-volume mail-order operation.

You will verify mail-order prescriptions, supervise technicians, maintain documentation, and support the transition into a compounding pharmacist role as the company grows.

Qualifications

• PharmD or equivalent, 1–2+ years licensed practice.
• Willing to work 3pm–midnight on-site in the greater Houston area.
• Able to operate as the sole pharmacist on site.
• Verification experience in a high-volume or mail-order setting.
• Leadership mentality with technicians.
• Interest in progressing into compounding.

Responsibilities

• Verify mail order prescriptions accurately and at volume across the evening shift.
• Act as the licensed pharmacist on site for the shift.
• Hold technicians accountable for accuracy, pace and documentation.
• Keep the workflow moving from order entry through final verification.
• Resolve prescription and prescriber queries that arise during the shift.
• Maintain documentation to the pharmacy's standards.

Job description

We are currently supporting a fast growing, multi-site 503A compounding pharmacy operating a high volume mail order pharmacy in the greater Houston area that is looking to engage a Verification Pharmacist.

This pharmacy has grown to three sites with more locations planned, and the evening shift needs its own pharmacist. You will be the licensed pharmacist on site from 3pm to midnight, verifying mail order prescriptions at volume and setting the standard for the technicians working alongside you. The business promotes from within and this seat has a defined path into a compounding pharmacist role. This is not a quiet closing shift where you count down the clock. This is a sole pharmacist seat inside a high volume compounding operation, for an early career pharmacist who wants responsibility now and compounding next.

Hours: full time, 3pm to midnight.

• PharmD or equivalent, 1 to 2 years or more of licensed practice
• Willing and able to work 3pm to midnight on site in the greater Houston area
• Comfortable as the only pharmacist on site, working independently
• Verification experience in a high volume or mail order setting
• Leadership mentality with technicians
• Interest in progressing into compounding
