Job summary

Fairmount Behavioral Health System on a wooded campus in Philadelphia seeks a Fulltime Verbal Therapist to join the team. The role involves assessing patient activities, leading therapy groups, and developing safety plans aligned with the program’s philosophy.

The therapist will support children, adolescents, and adults, with opportunities for professional growth and a range of benefits through Universal Health Services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Creative arts, Social worker or related clinical field.
• One year of experience in Behavioral health preferred.
• PA license preferred but not required; current registration or licensure in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' leisure and recreational activities and provide therapy groups using appropriate modalities.
• Help patients develop safety/crisis plans and establish behavioral treatment goals aligned with our philosophy.
• Demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units serving varied populations including children, adolescents, and adults.

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a Fulltime Verbal Therapist to join our team.

The Verbal Therapist is responsible for assessing patients' leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups using a therapy modalities, helping patients develop safety/crisis plans, and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System.

The Verbal Therapist must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, and adults.

* Education: Master's degree in Counseling, Creative arts, Social worker or related clinical field
