A healthcare services provider is seeking a Creative Arts Therapist to assess patients' recreational activities and deliver therapy using creative modalities. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Counseling or related field and one year of experience in the Behavioral health field. • Current registration or certification in a creative arts modality preferred.
• PA professional license preferred but not required. Possesses current registration, certification, or licensure in accordance with state and/or national board standards of specific field of a creative arts/allied therapy/counseling preferred (i.e. art, music, movement, recreation, occupational therapy)

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment.

Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for assessing patients’ leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groupsusing a combination of activities,creative arts modalities,and talk therapy,helping patients develop safety/crisis plans,and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able todemonstratecompetency in the criteria listed in this job description. Staff mustdemonstrateflexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, and adults.
