Job summary

A behavioral health facility in Philadelphia is seeking a Spiritual Support Specialist. This role involves providing psychological therapy and spiritual guidance to individuals with mental health and chemical dependency disorders. The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree in divinity or a related field, along with relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Requires a Master's degree in divinity or related field.
  • 1-3 years of work experience preferred.
  • Must have completed 2 units Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (CpastC) or Certified Clinical Pastoral Therapist (CCPT) or Licensed Pastoral Counselor (LPC) from the American Association of Pastoral Counselors preferred. License and/or Certification must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co‑occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a Spiritual Support Specialist to join our team.

The Spiritual Support Specialist are trained mental health professionals that provides, both, psychological therapy and spiritual guidance to individuals with behavioral/mental health illnesses and chemical dependency disorders. Primary responsibilities include providing quality care to individuals, counseling on spiritual issues, provide ongoing support, teach, and promote self‑advocacy, and provides direct spiritual care to patients in accordance with the treatment team.

  • Master’s degree in divinity, or graduate of accredited seminary or school of Theology at a graduate level, or related field required.
  • 1 to 3 years work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 units Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required (200 hours of structured group and individual education).
  • Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (CpastC) or Certified Clinical Pastoral Therapist (CCPT) or Licensed Pastoral Counselor (LPC) from the American Association of Pastoral Counselors preferred. License and/or Certification must be in good standing with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
