Job summary

The h.wood Group is seeking an Operations Accounting Manager to own venue-level accounting and the end-to-end accounts payable function. In this hybrid, Los Angeles area role you will lead Staff Accountants, coordinate with a third-party accounting partner, and ensure timely close, accurate coding, and compliant financial reporting across multiple venues.

You will optimize processes, reduce cycle times, and provide clear ownership and desk procedures to support scalable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years supervising staff.
• Hospitality industry accounting experience preferred; multi-unit venue operations viewed favorably.
• Ownership of full AP cycle and vendor management.
• Strong month-end close experience with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily venue accounting operations across all locations.
• Manage end-to-end accounts payable processing with a third-party partner.
• Review venue P&Ls, investigate variances, and ensure accurate coding.
• Lead Staff Accountants and perform performance reviews and coaching.
• Develop and maintain desk procedures for recurring processes.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls in daily workflows.
