Job summary

Advocates Legal Recruiting represents an AmLaw 100 client seeking a midlevel associate for its Emerging Companies and Venture Capital team in California. You would advise innovative founders, growth-stage companies, and the funds behind them on formation, venture financings, day-to-day corporate matters, and M&A.

The role also serves investors, offering a broader market view than a company-side seat. Candidates should have at least 3 years' experience at a comparable law firm with venture

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience at a comparable law firm with venture financings and emerging company work.
• Comfortable managing deal documents and closings, keeping multiple workstreams moving, and communicating with founders, executives, investors, and opposing counsel.
• Strong writing, judgment and quantitative skills, with emphasis on Excel fluency.

Responsibilities

• Advise innovative companies across formation, venture financings, day-to-day corporate matters and M&A.
• Represent investors, providing a broader market view beyond a pure company-side seat.
• Manage deal documents and closings and coordinate multiple workstreams.
