Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings.

The role emphasizes hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital. Candidates need an associates degree and RT licensure where required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure or as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid and unrestricted RT license where applicable.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment and ventilators.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator use and equipment.
• Document all patient care activities in company records.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PPE, and infection control policies.
