Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. The role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, including review of ventilator patient records, compliance data, and care plans; communicate findings and recommendations to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator dependent patients, ensuring smooth transitions to home settings.
• Instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources regarding patient status and tolerance of therapy.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely per company standards.
• Ensure documentation supports quality tracking, data trending, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
