Job summary

State of Missouri's Department of Mental Health seeks a Provider Relations Manager to oversee contractual processes, utilization review, and compliance for DMH contract providers.

The role supports coordination across Springfield and Kansas City regional offices, leading a Provider Relations team and ensuring adherence to state regulations and CSR requirements while advancing service quality for Missourians.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of contractual processes, regulatory requirements, funding systems, and budget guidelines.
  • Reviews policies related to utilization review, resource allocation, provider inquiries, QA data, service coordination referrals, and oversight.
  • Provides technical assistance to providers, families, and staff regarding contract language, Medicaid Waiver standards, and recordkeeping.
  • Leads and supervises the Provider Relations team, including hiring, performance documentation, timesheet approvals, meetings, and collaboration.
  • Partners with providers to promote quality services and ensure adherence to state regulations and CSR requirements.
  • Communicates effectively in written and verbal formats; maintains training, licensure, and travel readiness.
  • Performs administrative, analytical, supervisory, and compliance duties to support departmental goals.

Job Location: This position can be domiciled in either the DMH Springfield Regional Office or Kansas City Regional Office.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the contractual process, regulatory requirements, funding systems, budget guidelines, staffing patterns, and information management systems relevant to DMH contract providers.

  • Leads and supervises the Provider Relations team, including hiring, performance documentation, timesheet approval, decision‑making, monthly meetings, and fostering an open, collaborative environment.
  • Partners with providers to promote quality services and ensure adherence to state regulations, division directives, departmental guidelines, CSR requirements, and Provider Relations expectations.
  • Communicates effectively in written and verbal formats; maintains required training, licensure, physical abilities, travel readiness, and consistent attendance as required for the role.
  • Performs essential administrative, analytical, supervisory, and compliance‑related duties, along with additional tasks assigned to support departmental and regional goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Three or more years of relevant experience. Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required.
