Job description

Vendor Relations Manager | Life Sciences SaaS Growth Role — Remote

Career Trajectory: This role sits at the intersection of business development, strategic partnerships, and data analytics — a rare combination that makes it highly transferable. Skills developed here (supplier negotiation, margin analysis, CRM/BI tooling, cross-functional collaboration) are in strong demand across SaaS, eCommerce, distribution, and life sciences sectors.

Compensation vs. Market: The $100K–$125K base plus performance bonus is competitive for a Vendor/Supplier Relations Manager with 3–5 years of experience in the US. Industry benchmarks for similar roles in life sciences or SaaS-adjacent companies typically range $90K–$130K, placing this offer at or slightly above the median — especially for a fully remote position.

Company Signals:

  • Green flag: Quartzy is profitable and growing — unusually stable for a SaaS/eCommerce hybrid. This reduces layoff risk compared to venture-backed startups burning cash.
  • Green flag: Access to co-founders and weekly all-hands suggests a flat, transparent culture typical of a mid-stage startup (~50–200 employees).
  • Consideration: The role has broad ownership (catalog management, reporting, supplier strategy, issue resolution) — high impact but potentially high workload for one person.

Work-Life Balance: Flexible time off and remote-first culture are positive signals. The "roll up your sleeves" language suggests a lean team where individuals carry significant responsibility — rewarding for self-starters, potentially demanding for those seeking clear boundaries.

Skills in Demand: Salesforce, Looker, margin analysis, and supplier negotiation are highly marketable. This role is an excellent stepping stone toward Director of Vendor Relations, Head of Partnerships, or VP of Business Development within life sciences or B2B SaaS.

Quartzy is seeking a Vendor Relations Manager to build, manage, and grow strategic supplier relationships across our Life Sciences & Chemicals portfolios. You'll drive growth and profitability by strengthening existing partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and bringing on strategic suppliers that expand and enhance our product portfolio.

  • Own the resolution of escalated supplier issues, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to drive timely resolution and maintain strong relationships.

  • Own supplier catalog health and optimization, developing and executing strategies to improve product content, data quality, assortment, and performance, including de‑duplication and standardized catalog imports.
  • Develop and deliver cross‑system performance reporting to provide leadership and key stakeholders with actionable insights into supplier performance, profitability, growth, and opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the supplier portfolio, using customer demand, performance data, market trends, and business priorities to inform supplier strategy.
  • Strategically manage and prioritize a portfolio of suppliers based on business performance, customer demand, strategic importance, and growth potential.
