Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Troy, NY seeks a student/Co‑op for Spring/Summer 2027 to support calibration, testing and data analysis while contributing to system‑level development. You will help define and optimize control strategies for current and future programs.

The team focuses on verification, calibration, software control logic, and mechatronic system development, collaborating across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
• Understand engineering theory and design principles.
• Knowledge of computer-based software and strong teamwork/communication.

Responsibilities

• Participate in vehicle and system-level testing using standardized methods and data acquisition.
• Support development, documentation, and verification of mechatronic system software strategies via simulation and calibration.
• Collect and analyze data from vehicles, test benches, dynos, and manufacturing environments; assist root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with the vehicle applications team to refine software control logic and calibration strategies.
• Adhere to quality management systems and safety policies; learn test methods and develop tooling as needed.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
