Job summary

Ed Roehr Safety Products Company is seeking an entry-level 12-volt installer for our install shop. The role involves installing emergency lights, sirens and related equipment on safety vehicles such as police and fire units.

It is a fast-paced, evolving position that requires basic mechanical skills and a willingness to learn. You will work both in a team and individually, multitasking across various vehicle updates and service workloads.

Qualifications

• Must have basic mechanical skills or basic understanding of the 12-volt automotive system.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn on a continuous basis.
• Strong problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install emergency lights, sirens and a wide range of equipment on safety vehicles for police, fire, etc.
• Complete jobs efficiently, ranging from minutes to several hours depending on workload and complexity.

Ed Roehr Safety Products has been in business for over 80 years. We have changed and grew over these years into the business we are today. Years ago we adopted the motto “Upfitting Public Safety, Bumper to Bumper and Head to Toe”. We work with multiple departments from fire, police, sheriff and security companies and provide almost everything someone in public safety would wear including building their vehicle from a brand-new car or making changes on a vehicle in service.

While we have grown and change, we have an open “12-volt installer” position in our install shop. This position is entry level, fast pace, and constantly evolving with product and vehicle updates.

Job consists of installing emergency lights, sirens and a wide range of other equipment on safety vehicles for police, fire, etc.. Jobs could take 5 minutes to a week depending on the overall workload and job complexity at that time. When new vehicles are completed they are ready for immediate service.
