Job summary

Island Tech Services in Maine's Freeport location is seeking an Auto Installer to build and outfit police, fire, and emergency response vehicles with mission-critical electronics.

You will perform custom installations, wire and test components, diagnose issues, and document work while adhering to safety standards. This hands-on role offers growth in a fast-paced industry and meaningful public safety impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade school preferred.
• Experience with vehicle upfitting or automotive electronics is preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and wiring.

Responsibilities

• Perform custom installations of emergency lighting, sirens, radios, partitions, and other vehicle components.
• Wire and test electronic components to ensure proper function and safety.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems as needed.
• Follow established procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Document work performed, including parts used and time spent, in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Collaborate with other technicians and team members to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and care for tools and equipment.

Then you might be exactly who we're looking for. Island Tech Services is hiring a full-time Auto Installer for their ME location. This role builds and custom outfits police, fire, and emergency response vehicles with the equipment first responders rely on every day.

This is hands on, fast paced work where you'll go home knowing you worked on something that actually matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
