Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Vehicle Test Center Technician to support development and validation testing for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. You will build, modify, repair, and maintain prototype and production-intent vehicles, install instrumentation, and conduct controlled and real-world tests.

The role requires DOT compliance, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, data acquisition, and collaboration with engineers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and automotive repair knowledge.
• Experience with vehicle systems and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL Class A license.
• Read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Execute vehicle testing in support of development programs.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance on medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Prototype build and vehicle modification support.
• Install instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance during testing.
