Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Detroit, MI is seeking a performance/durability operations technician to run multiple test cells/stands at peak efficiency and ensure data quality meets engineering customers' expectations. The role covers engine setup, mechanical assembly and disassembly, fabrication work and troubleshooting of test cells/stands.

You will set up engines and exhaust after-treatment systems, identify and troubleshoot problems, and work with hand tools and MS365 to document results.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills and ability to work with hand tools.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks timely with little oversight.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Familiarity with testing measurements and sensors is a plus.
• Experience with engine testing and assembly/disassembly.

Responsibilities

• Keep test cells/stands running at peak efficiency and produce quality data.
• Set up engines, components, and exhaust after-treatment systems.
• Perform engine mechanical assembly and disassembly and fabrication work.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems in test cells/stands.
