Job summary

Link Engineering Company, a premier designer and manufacturer of precision test equipment in Michigan, seeks a Vehicle Test Engineer II to validate and test client components for high-quality results.

You will support diverse test programs, read and interpret specifications, operate testing equipment, analyze data, and report findings to customers, with travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Associate’s Degree with 3 years relevant automotive lab experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of automotive engineering lab experience.
  • High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

  • Technical responsibility for organizing and executing Customer jobs.
  • Analyze test results and provide engineering reports that meet Customer specifications.
  • Read and understand test specifications for vehicle testing projects.
  • Monitor tests in progress to ensure they are running to specification parameters.
  • Analyze technical matters in the test engineering field to provide solutions to internal Customers.
  • Use equipment instrumentation for set up and calibration.

We are looking for a talentedTest Engineer II, who will be responsible for validating and testing client components and systems to aid in the development of a high-quality process that meets Customer needs. You will support Customer jobs including special vehicle tests, durability, NVH, performance, fleet tests, extreme environment conditions, etc.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Technical responsibility for organizing and executing Customer jobs.
  • Analyze test results and provide engineering reports that meet Customer specifications.
  • Read and understand test specifications for vehicle testing projects.
  • Monitor tests in progress to ensure they are running to specification parameters.
  • Analyze technical matters in the test engineering field to provide solutions to internal Customers.
  • Use equipment instrumentation for set up and calibration.
  • Use a Windows based computer system to access relevant test procedures and quality system documents, enter measurement data, store, and retrieve files from the network, etc.
  • Interaction with Customer to obtain test objectives, testing parameters to provide test results.
  • Work with the staff to ensure quality testing.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
  • Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related Associate’s Degree with 3 years relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory; equivalent related work experience also acceptable in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory.
  • High School Diploma.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Familiarity with model 4000 modules (analog, temp, pulse, NVH) preferred.
  • Understanding of vehicle braking systems preferred.
  • Understanding of load configuration including center of gravity, GAWR’s, GCVM preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • Proven knowledge of test engineering, including methods, equipment, reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a Team environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong independent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
