Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate at our West Point, VA facility to inspect, diagnose, repair and recondition vehicles to CarMax standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled shop, using modern tools and training to ensure safety and quality across domestic and foreign vehicles.

This role requires hands-on experience with engines, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC, plus a valid driver’s license and ASE certifications where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications where required (A4, A5, A7, A6, A1, A3, A8, A2).
