Job summary

Calderdale Council is seeking a Vehicle Technician to perform planned maintenance and repair work on a fleet of vehicles including HGVs, light commercials and buses. The role includes MOT testing and compliance checks as required, in a busy workshop environment.

Successful candidates will have a Level 2 vehicle maintenance qualification and be willing to work towards further IMI qualifications and MOT training, with prior workshop experience.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
• Willing to work towards IMI Levels 3/4 for electric/hybrid vehicles and MOT testing training.
• Experience in a vehicle workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and responsive repairs to HGVs, light commercials, cars, accessible buses, plant and equipment.
• Carry out MOT tests to classes IV, V and VII and private hire/hackney carriage compliance tests as required.

Experience in vehicle workshop

Education

Level 2 qualification in vehicle maintenance or equivalent

Willing to work towards IMI Level 3/4 and MOT testing training
