Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies seeks a Systems Integration Engineer to link hardware and software across vehicle platforms, validating and integrating software systems from prototype stages to customer launches.

You will navigate complex, unknown domains, prioritize issues in real time, and ensure system stability while collaborating with architecture and platform teams. This role requires hands-on problem-solving and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1–3 years in automotive, ECUs, or consumer electronics.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and communication protocols.
• Fluent debugging of Ethernet and CAN with standard tools.
• Able to work in fast-paced development environment.
• Excellent team communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on software integration and validation on prototype vehicles, lab cars, and other system assets through all build phases, from bench level boards to early mules to production launch.
• Commissioning and bring-up of interconnected complex systems using hardware and software that will vary from early stage immaturity to post production stability.
• Triage, debug, and perform root-cause analysis on complex, system-level integration issues that span multiple ECUs and software domains.
• Provide technical analysis to support prioritization of low-level foundational work versus high-level feature development based on program needs.
• Dive deep into unfamiliar ECU and vehicle subsystem domains and software stacks to resolve integration blockers and ensure system stability.
• Analyze and report on component-level issues, clearly extrapolating potential system-level risks to engineering leadership.
• Collaborate directly with architecture, platform, and application developers to define and resolve software dependencies.
