Road & Rail Services in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our vehicle processing operation. You will supervise the Vehicle Handling team, plan staffing, coach supervisors, and ensure safety, quality, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Experience leading employees in a fast-paced operation.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• A safety-first approach to managing people and operations.
• Ability to hold employees accountable while developing a productive team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities within the Vehicle Handling department.
• Plan staffing and workflow based on customer volume and operational requirements.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to supervisors, leads, and hourly associates.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
• Conduct or coordinate daily safety meetings and operational briefings.
• Ensure employees understand their assigned responsibilities, work instructions, and safety procedures.
• Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, and overall employee performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, site SOPs, and established work instructions.
• Support compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, FRA, and DOT requirements.
• Perform operational audits and inspections to identify safety, quality, or performance concerns.
• Address operational issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and workflow.
• Maintain effective communication with the Terminal Manager, customers, and employees.
• Exercise independent judgment regarding staffing, employee performance, promotions, and other operational decisions.
