Job summary

Mossy Auto Group is seeking a Vehicle Payables Clerk in San Diego to handle payables for Service Contracts, Gap Contracts, Dealer Reserve, Floor planning and other vehicle payables. The role supports a broad spectrum of AP duties and close processes in a family-owned dealership environment.

The position offers an hourly wage of $20.00–$25.00 with benefits that include medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid vacation, and more, along with growth opportunities and paid training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years automotive accounting experience required.
• Strong accounting skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process all incoming vendor information and maintain vendor records.
• Receive, process, and reconcile invoices; post invoices daily.
• Prepare and reconcile AP reports; ensure correct charges and payments.
• Execute AP checks and mailings; verify payment approvals.
• Assist in monthly close and provide account analyses as needed.

The Vehicle Payables Clerk submits, reconciles and issues payment for all Service Contracts, Gap Contracts, Dealer Reserve, Flooring and all other vehicle payables.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Process all incoming vendor information with regard to maintaining current vendor records.
• Receive, process, and reconcile all incoming invoices for appropriate charges.
• Post all vendor invoices on a daily basis.
• Generate A/P report that reflects itemized charges for each client.
• Reconcile reports for correct appropriation of charges and payments.
• Process vehicle Payable Cancellations
• Check all invoices, vouchers, and check requests; obtain appropriate payment approval.
• Execute accounts payable checks for mailing.
• Reconcile statement and ledger making sure that payments are consistent with dealership schedules.
• Answer all vendor inquiries & reconcile bank balances.
• Assist in monthly closing & prepare analysis of accounts, as required.
• Provide support for and cross train in other business office positions.
