Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a detail-oriented Vehicle Data Entry Associate in Florida. You will input vehicle information into the AS400 system using a handheld terminal or relay data to a coworker for entry, ensuring VIN, stock number, make, model, year, mileage, color, and options are accurate.

You will affix barcode labels, assign work orders and routing labels, flag no-key cars, guide transporters, and capture digital photos at receipt.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; ability to drive vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Basic computer skills with data entry experience.
• Standing, walking, bending and reaching as part of daily tasks.
• Experience with vehicle identification and VIN/stock data entry is a plus.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Enter accurate vehicle data into AS400 using handheld PT or relay to coworker for data entry for each vehicle received at the Auction including VIN, stock number, make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
• Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.

• Direct transporters to proper car drop zone and report transport damage as needed.
• Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
• Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the driver at registration area.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in Safety Excellence.
• Assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction lanes as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld computer (Portable Terminal - PT) or provide information via headset to co-worker for data entry for each vehicle received at the Auction including Vehicle Identification number (VIN) Stock number. Dealer identification number Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.


• Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.


• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.


• Flag \"no key\" cars.


• Direct transporters to proper car drop zone. Report transport damage as needed.


• Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.


• Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person who is driving vehicle through the registration/check-in area.


• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.


• Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.


• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred, OR less than 2 years of related work experience.


• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.


• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.


• Basic computer skills required.


• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.


• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.


• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.


• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Qualifications

1-3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred.

Work Environment

USD 15.10 - 22.69 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
