Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a data-entry-focused associate to capture accurate vehicle information at auction entry. You will use AS400 on handheld devices, enter VIN, stock numbers, dealer IDs, mileage, and vehicle options while affixing labels and routing documents.

Work includes taking vehicle photos, applying windshield codes, and guiding transporters. You will support safety protocols, work overtime as needed, and contribute to smooth sale-day operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
  • Safe drivers required; valid license.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to lift 1–15 pounds.
  • Vision: close, distance, color, depth perception; adjust focus.
  • Stand, walk, reach, talk, hear; bend, kneel, crouch, climb.

Responsibilities

  • Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer for each vehicle received at the auction.
  • Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle.
  • Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles at entry.
  • Direct transporters to correct drop zones; report transport damage.
  • Take digital images of vehicles upon receipt.
  • Provide windshield code to the registration/check‑in staff.
  • Follow safety procedures; participate in Safety Excellence activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; assist on sale days.
  • Overtime may be required (>40 hours/week) as needed.

  • Vehicle Identification number (VIN)
  • Stock number
  • Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
  • Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
  • Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
  • Flag \"no key\" cars.
  • Direct transporters to proper car drop zone.
  • Report transport damage as needed.
  • Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
  • Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person who is driving vehicle through the registration/check‑in area.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, etc.
  • May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.

USD 16.63 - 24.90 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
