Job summary

Cox Automotive in Illinois is seeking a Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist I. The role focuses on accurate data entry into AS400, labeling vehicles, and coordinating transport with drivers. You will handle vehicles with care, ensuring compliance with data privacy and safety standards.

The shift is 1:30 PM–10:00 PM Wednesday to Sunday; hourly pay ranges from $16.63 to $24.90, with potential incentive programs. Previous experience in vehicle operations is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; basic computer skills expected.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive safely.
• Experience with AS400 systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Input vehicle data into AS400 using TC-75 handheld device, including VIN, stock, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color, options.
• Affix barcode/stock stickers to vehicles and apply work order numbers and routing labels.
• Identify 'no key' vehicles and direct transporters to drop zones.
• Inspect transport damage and report it as required.
• Ensure proper sale identification windshield codes.

Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist I

Company Cox Automotive - USA Job Family Group Vehicle Operations Job Profile Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist I Management Level Individual Contributor Flexible Work Option No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location Travel % No Work Shift Day Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Key Responsibilities

• Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 system using a handheld device (TC-75), including VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), Stock number, Dealer ID, Make, model, year, mileage, color, options
• Affix barcode/stock number stickers to each vehicle upon arrival
• Apply work order numbers and routing labels to vehicles
• Identify and flag “no key” vehicles
• Direct transporters to designated vehicle drop zones
• Inspect and report transport damage as required
• Provide proper sale identification windshield codes

Data Protection & Vehicle Preparation

• Remove and clear all personal information from vehicles, including documents, saved contacts, and identifiable items
• Reset or remove navigation system data (addresses, history, Bluetooth pairings, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with company policies regarding customer data privacy and security

Safety & Team Support

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by following all safety procedures and guidelines
• Support Safety Excellence initiatives and work with leadership on safety activities
• Assist with additional operational duties as assigned, including Driving vehicles through auction lanes on sale days

Qualifications

Minimum: High School Diploma/GED Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field. Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required Basic computer skills required. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb. Ability to lift 1-15 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years of auction or vehicle registration experience Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
