Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of commercial vehicle maintenance experience.
  • ASE certifications or equivalent expertise; actively pursue ongoing training.
  • CDL Class A or B preferred.
  • Clear communication with management and drivers, with precise documentation.

Vehicle Mechanic

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of mechanical systems, safety features, and overall vehicle condition to keep assets reliable and roadworthy.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across engines, transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems, and electrical components using structured troubleshooting.
  • Perform timely repairs and replacements on tires, brakes, bearings, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems to reduce downtime.
  • Execute preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and precise lubrication to extend equipment service life.
  • Test vehicle systems after repair to guarantee functionality and compliance with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage accurate service logs, repair records, and inspection documentation; communicate repair recommendations to management, schedule warranty work with equipment manufacturers, and uphold a clean and organized work environment while ensuring safety protocols and proper handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.
  • Operate snowplow equipment to safely and efficiently clear snow and ice from roads and designated areas, ensuring safe travel conditions.
