Job summary

United Road is seeking an Operations Manager to support the Terminal Manager, oversee daily terminal operations, staff, and customer communications. This role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and equipment maintenance to drive profitability.

You will lead staff, monitor costs and performance, and coordinate with regional leadership. The ideal candidate has logistics leadership experience, FMCSA knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of logistics experience, preferably in trucking, or two years in supervision of finished vehicle transport.
• Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Subject matter expert on FMCSA and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the duties of the staff and supervision of the terminal.
• Operate terminal efficiently by analyzing operating costs, equipment utilization, and revenue.
• Ensure the efficient and on-time delivery of freight; effectively problem solve customer and delivery issues.
• Build and maintain positive and profitable customer and vendor relationships.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Oversee safety requirements for terminal including Hours-Of-Service and DOT requirements, injuries, and accidents.
• Disseminate information to leadership related to staffing, inventory, budget, revenue and risks.
• Establish local procedures to ensure safety and productivity of stakeholders.
• Review CSA violations and discipline drivers per Safety Dept directives.
