Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a New Model Introduction Supervisor to lead the launch of new vehicle and powertrain programs across North American plants. You will guide a team of launch engineers, manage budgets, coordinate cross-functional activities, and ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality launches.

The role emphasizes risk management, PPAP readiness, and communication with senior leadership up to Director level. A hybrid onsite work model and extensive travel are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Powertrain/Vehicle Operations manufacturing, design, and/or program management, with Project management or launch experience.
  • 4+ years of experience demonstrating understanding of processes for bringing new vehicle models from development into full-scale production.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Management and Issue Management.
  • Experience with problem solving disciplines using statistical mindsets.
  • Master of Science degree in Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in Powertrain/Vehicle Operations manufacturing, design, and/or program management, with Project management or launch experience.
  • 6+ years of experience demonstrating understanding of processes for bringing new vehicle models from development into full-scale production.
  • 3+ years of Leadership/Supervisory level experience.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Budget Management: Ensure launches are completed within budget.
  • Pre-Production Oversight: Manage activities up to prototype and pre-production builds.
  • Design Change Approval: Review and approve design changes.
  • Team Support Setup: Provide facilities and resources for the on-site team.
  • Issue Resolution: Oversee issue management to resolve launch-impacting issues.
  • Customer Feedback Integration: Address concerns from Voice of the Customer Fleet before launch.
  • Change Control Management: Participate in change control processes for the NMP.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop strategies to reduce risks of parts not yet at full production quality.
  • Production Readiness Approval: Lead Open to Go, verify part pedigree and apply PPAP deviations as needed.
  • Plant Issue Tracking: Support manufacturing issue management.
  • Reporting: Escalate launch risks and communicate status.
  • Meeting Coordination: Schedule and coordinate on-site launch meetings.
  • Launch Review Presentations: Prepare and present comprehensive launch reviews.
  • Production Readiness Scorecards: Approve OK to Build/Ship/Buy at milestones.
  • On-Site Modifications: Lead on-site changes with plant and suppliers.
  • Lessons Learned: Document and share lessons from launches.
  • Collaboration: Work with Launch Specialists and leadership up to Directors.
  • Standardization: Adhere to Launch Quality Standards (LQOS).
  • Team Leadership: Allocate resources and manage personnel, including training.
