Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Michigan is seeking a New Model Introduction Supervisor for Vehicle and Powertrain Launch. Lead a cross-functional team to ensure launches meet time, budget, and quality targets.

This leadership role oversees pre-production, change control, risk mitigation, and open-to-go readiness with PPAP, coordinating with senior leadership up to Director level.

Travel is frequent; strong program management, MS Project, and MS Office experience required; travel up to 9–12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of Powertrain/Vehicle Operations manufacturing, design, and/or program management with PM/launch experience.
• 4+ years of experience bringing new vehicle models from development into full-scale production.
• Skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
• Project management and/or launch experience.
• Experience with Engineering Change Management and Issue Management.
• Experience with problem solving disciplines using statistical mindsets.

Responsibilities

• Budget Management: ensure launches within budget.
• Pre-Production Oversight: manage activities up to prototype and pre-production builds.
• Design Change Approval: review and approve design changes and tests.
• Team Support Setup: ensure facilities and resources are available for on-site team.
• Issue Resolution: track and resolve launch-impacting issues.
• Customer Feedback Integration: address Voice of the Customer Fleet concerns before launch.
• Change Control Management: oversee NMP involvement in change control processes.
• Risk Mitigation: develop strategies to reduce risks of not-yet-fully-produced parts.
• Production Readiness Approval: lead Open to Go process and PPAP deviations.
• Plant Issue Tracking: support manufacturing issue management.
• Reporting: identify launch risks and escalate with status in NMP assessments.
• Meeting Coordination: manage on-site launch meeting schedules.
• Launch Review Presentations: prepare and present comprehensive reviews.
• Production Readiness Scorecards: approve OK to Build/Ship/Buy scorecards.
• On-Site Modifications: manage on-site changes with suppliers.
• Lessons Learned: document and share learnings.
• Collaboration: work with Launch Specialists and leadership up to Directors.
• Standardization: promote adherence to Launch Quality Standards (LQOS).
• Team Leadership: allocate resources and manage training.
