As a full-time member of our design team based in Torrance, CA, you will operate in a fast-paced startup setting. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications:

Core Responsibilities

• Creating and presenting 2D and 3D design proposals for boat projects
• Guiding 3D design development from feasibility to production DFM
• Prototyping and mockup creation to validate ideas
• Collaborating with suppliers and vendors
• Conducting CMF research and developing design proposals
• Researching the boating market to identify opportunities
• Using product requirements to guide boat design
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop hardware and software

Basic Qualifications

Applicants must submit a portfolio (PDF or URL). Applications without portfolios will not be considered.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related design field
• Minimum four years of professional experience in boat/yacht, vehicle, product, or industrial design, with at least one project from inception to launch
• Strong visual communication skills (sketching, rendering)
• Digital modeling skills in Alias, Blender, Rhino, or similar
• Visualization skills in Blender, Keyshot, Vred, Twinmotion, or similar
• Problem-solving skills with an engineering perspective
• Excellent communication for stakeholder engagement
• User empathy and ability to extract insights from customer interactions
• Hands-on experience with mockups and physical models
• Willingness to travel for boating events
• Ability to work at an intense, sustainable pace
